Urgent Request for Resolution of Sewer Overflow
Urgent Request for Resolution of Sewer Overflow Near Plot No. 2039-2045 in MIE Part-B Industrial Area, Bahadurgarh
We are reaching out with a matter of utmost urgency and concern regarding the persistent sewer overflow issue affecting industrial plots from 2039 to 2045 in the MIE Part-B Industrial Area, Bahadurgarh. It has been over eight months since the issue persists, and despite repeated follow-ups with HSIIDC, the situation remains unaddressed.
It appears as if HSIIDC is either not serious about resolving the issues faced by industries or sees its role only in collecting taxes, sewer bills, and water bills from industrial units and they are incapable of addressing the critical issues faced by the industries and their workers while working in such pathetic conditions.
Industries are significant contributors to the economic development of the nation, generating substantial revenue, taxes, and employment opportunities. Despite these contributions, we are disheartened to find ourselves in a situation worse than any slum, compelled to operate under hazardous conditions due to the continuous sewer overflow.
Proper sanitation is a basic human right, and yet, the conditions here are worse than in any slum, with workers constantly exposed to diseases like dengue, malaria, and other infections. This situation has led to a significant rise in health issues among workers, who are increasingly unwilling to work under such conditions due to the overwhelming smell and the risk of infection.
Consequently, we are struggling to maintain our workforce, dispatch goods, and complete orders, as transporters are also reluctant to enter the area due to these deplorable conditions.
We have attached photos and videos depicting the severity of the condition to provide a clear picture of the hazardous environment our industries are currently enduring. Despite the gravity of the situation, HSIIDC officials have provided responses that are entirely inadequate, such as blaming contractors who “are not listening to them.”
We ask you, is this a valid or acceptable reason for the prolonged neglect of such a basic infrastructure issue? As industries contribute substantial revenue, taxes, and employment to the state, we expect a more accountable response from the authorities responsible for these essential services.
We request you to please inform us whom we should contact directly to ensure timely action on this issue.
If the department or government cannot assist in providing these basic facilities, we request a written statement explicitly stating that it will not address the issues faced by industries, so that we may explore options to pool our resources and address these issues independently.
Moreover, we request an exemption from taxes for the industries operating in areas where the government fails to provide even basic infrastructure and essential services. It is unreasonable to expect industries to pay taxes while being deprived of the minimum standards necessary for safe and effective operations.
We hope that you will treat this issue with the urgency it warrants and look forward to a prompt response to prevent further health risks and operational disruptions.
Thanks & Regards
